So spring break officially ended a little over 48 hours ago and spring quarter is in full swing as I type this. It isn't without a tinge of regret that I find myself writing this wrap up post on my short-lived vacation, but I have to say, it's great to see my classmates again. From the whirlwind first quarter to the recruiting blitzkrieg, it's as if being in the trenches together brings everyone closer. But, all that is behind us for the most part and now we're settling in nicely to the (calmer) ebbs & flows of business school. And speaking of ebbs & flows, a group of us Andersonites decided to bravely venture to the Baja coast this spring break and enjoy an extended weekend in Cabo San Lucas. This was actually my second time in Mexico, the first time being a family vacation to Tijuana over ten years ago (yes, I know that a "family vacation" doesn't qualify as a real vacation these days). All I knew was to expect the following three things: pools, beaches, and seafood. And it turns out, we got all three in spades.

These two beautiful shots are, again, courtesy of Brian Sim. While the rest of us poor, starving students carried point-and-shoots, he had a fully outfitted & legitimate camera, tripod and remote control and all.
Yes, that is a straight-up SHIP in the pool of our hotel. It's been retrofitted to serve as a fully-functioning restaurant. So yeah, the hotel was pretty darn nice. What else did we do besides lounging poolside and soaking up the UV rays vitamin D?
We walked (aka "frolicked on the beach"):
We boated:
What you see here is the back of my head. I made sure to take an anti-sea sickness pill beforehand for good measure.
We ventured:
We bused:
Liwen hidden beneath her shades & floppy hat: old lady mode
We juggled:
We swam:
Sara floating tranquilly, blissfully unaware of my clandestine picture-snapping.
We clubbed:
At "El Squid Roe." Funny play on Skid Row...
We played beach football:
Again, people were blissfully unaware of the snapping shutters...with the exception of one guy, apparently
We wined:
Suanne was classy and ordered wine, making the rest of us look like degenerates
We dined (too much):
And then we posed:
There were guys on the trip, FYI
All in all, it was a great trip made even more amazing by the people who joined in. There were many other spring break group trips at Anderson, the most notable being the Japan trip hosted by Japan America Business Association that rounded around 90+ students! Now spring break seems all but a distant & fleeting memory, but these photos will hopefully provide some great recollections--and great laughs--for years to come.
