Our UCLA Anderson Parker Career Management Center (CMC) helps guide our MBA students through the many stages of their career search, including giving students access to learn first-hand about companies' cultures and opportunities. One of our key career search programs at Anderson are our "Days-on-the-Job" (known at Anderson as DOJs, because we like acronyms!). Professional clubs, in collaboration with Parker CMC Career Advisors, organize these DOJ events, which are on-site visits to companies worldwide. During the school year, our students visit more than 50 companies in Los Angeles, Orange County, San Diego, San Francisco, Silicon Valley, New York, Boston, Seattle, Miami, Portland, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Beijing, and more!
This is just one example of how UCLA Anderson students have direct access to companies not only on the West Coast, but all across the US and globally!
While DOJs occur throughout the year, this week is officially "DOJ Week" -- there are no first-year MBA classes scheduled this entire week so our MBA students can focus on their career search by travelling on one or more of multiple simultaneous treks across LA, NYC, Seattle, and San Francisco, each focusing on different career functions.
Here's all of the DOJs happening THIS week alone:
- Real Estate: Los Angeles, Orange County, and Bay Area
- Technology: Bay Area and Seattle
- Energy: Los Angeles, San Diego, and Bay Area
- Entertainment: Bay Area
- Healthcare: Los Angeles, San Diego, and Bay Area
- Investment Banking: New York City and Bay Area
- Investment Management: New York City, Bay Area, and Boston
- Management Consulting: Los Angeles and Bay Area
- Retail Business: New York and Bay Area
- Sports Business: Bay Area and Portland
DOJs for Marketing, Operations, and Social Impact are coming soon!

Since Anderson is all about #sharingsuccess, our Retail Business Association helped to coordinate an evening mixer with NYU Stern retail students, too!

Coming up later this week, about 50 students are expected to attend our DOJs in LA and the SF area to explore Management Consulting. Companies that they will visit include: BCG, ZS Associates, Mercer, Cornerstone, and KPMG. Students will also have exposure to these and other top Management Consulting firms like McKinsey, Deloitte, PwC, and Bain during upcoming coffee chats, lunch-and-learns, information events, and other programming coordinated by our career services team and the Management Consulting Association.
We're excited for all of the remaining DOJs and company visits this week. To stay up-to-date on DOJ Week, follow #AnderDOJ2016 on social media!
