Our Fall 2014 online application will be available in early August, but you can start preparing now as we recently updated our Application Requirements.
So what's new? While most requirements haven't changed since last year, we made some modifications to streamline the process so you can focus your time and effort on the parts we find to be the most impactful.
First of all, we now have only one required essay:
What are your short-term and long-term goals, and how will an MBA from UCLA Anderson specifically help you acheive these goals? (750 words maximum)
The optional essay is still available if you would like to provide any additional details on your candidacy:
Are there any extenuating circumstances in your profile about which the Admissions Committee should be aware? (250 words maximum)
And finally, only one letter of recommendation is required (down from two in the past).
These changes were made after careful deliberation within the admissions commitee, taking into consideration our collective experience plus feedback from our applicants. While our previous essay #1 helped us learn more about you, we found ourselves consistently drawn to the "why MBA/now/Anderson" essay as this painted a more comprehensive portrait of you as an MBA applicant and your overall fit with UCLA Anderson's culture and values. We also discovered that for many applicants, the additional letter of recommendation was a huge source of anxiety that did not generate a substantial amount of additional insight over just one recommendation. With these points in mind, and knowing that you can spend dozens (or even hundreds) of hours on the application process, we decided to simplify our requirements.
We're positive that these changes will help you build the strongest, most compelling application to UCLA Anderson. And as always, the admissions office is here to help in any way we can - share your thoughts below or shoot us an email to get the conversation started!
this information is good for peoples.
