Greetings
readers! Although originally from Utah (Brigham Young University,
Finance), I am joining the Anderson Class of 2015 after living for the past
three years in Westwood, very close to campus. I worked as an analyst at
Merrill Lynch's Private Banking & Investment Group managing the assets of
high net worth clients prior to making the jump to the MBA. I love sports
and look forward to helping keep UCLA Anderson at the top of the rankings for
intramural and intercollegiate basketball and flag football. I have a beautiful
wife and a baby boy that should arrive around late August--should make for an
interesting first quarter!

A
true Bruin and SoCal native, I earned my BA at UCLA in '07 and worked for the
university before pursuing a Masters in educational media and technology from
Harvard. Since then, I have worked as a social impact consultant, partnering
with clients including high-profile documentary films, national nonprofits,
billionaire philanthropists and A-list celebrities. And while I'm a passionate
activist (including work in the LGBT community and on-the-ground in East
Africa), a social entrepreneur, a film lover, a writer and a runner, I haven't
done math for over 10 years...so let the MBA games begin!

Genter '15
Hello,
everyone! My name is Daniel Genter and I’m originally from Madison, Wisconsin.
As an undergraduate, I studied Economics at the University of Wisconsin and
have spent my time since in Africa and Asia serving Sub-Saharan African and
North Korean refugees. I can’t wait to get back to the States and start a new
chapter at Anderson!

A
Franco-Korean expat, I'm celebrating my first decade in the US this summer. In
the past ten years, I've lived in Honolulu, Boston and NYC. I have a journalism
and publishing background (magazines and books) and I hope to integrate my past
experiences in my business education.

Kostenkova '15
Hi everyone! My name is Alyona Kostenkova, a member of UCLA Anderson’s Class of
2015. I am moving to LA from Moscow, Russia where as a part of a media agency I
developed advertising and product placement strategies for large international
clients. I am a sociable and a creative person: during undergrad I attended an
amateur theatre; I like oil-painting, writing poetry and travelling. I am a
passionate couchsurfer: I visit different countries and stay at people's places
to explore their culture and traditions first hand. I am super excited about
joining the Anderson community this fall and as an
advertising person I am happy to promote UCLA Anderson through my blog!

Originally a Chicago native, I quickly grew tired of snow boots and wind chill
factors, so I fled to sunny California, stopping along the way in Philadelphia
for college, and New York where I worked in retail and ate way too much
Pinkberry. Trading crowded sidewalks for crowded freeways, I made Los Angeles
my home, working in TV casting, most recently on 90210 and Franklin
& Bash. I am so excited to begin my next chapter at UCLA Anderson (and,
for the record, not just because there’s a Yogurtland within walking distance
to campus) and I look forward to sharing my experiences as a blogger for the
MBA Student Voice!
