Well hello, you soon-to-be-loyal gorgeous readers (fingers crossed that if my content fails to capture you, flattery will).
I'm Ashley- a Mississippi native currently wrapping up 7 years of living in New York City where I run a small business for celebrity stylist Robert Verdi. I'm thrilled to be heading to Los Angeles to pursue my MBA at UCLA Anderson School of Management... Go New York Giants UCLA Bruins!
I am excited to meet you via this blog, and to share what I've learned about the M.B.A. experience with you all: the painful colorful process of applying to grad school, excitement of picking Anderson, the parties preparation for getting my MBA, the hassle adventure of moving to Los Angeles and the awesome people I've met along the way.
But first, here is a little bit about me. I'm a southern girl at heart, having grown up in the Deep South and attended Vanderbilt University in Nashville, but am Canadian by birth. My 3rd and British passport proves I do belong to my parents, despite the fact that my southern accent calls for twice as many vowels as do their British accents. I have travelled and lived in Europe, Canada and Eastern USA, and now I am excited to start my life on the West Coast at Anderson's MBA program!
In 4 short weeks, I'll be moving from New York City to Los Angeles, and will keep you posted on the highs and lows of that journey. It would be vain to suppose that you might be interested solely in my experience, so that is not my goal. So many incredible people I've met along the path to my MBA have had similar experiences to mine, great advice to share, hilarious anecdotes and/or provacative insight. I hope to share those stories, both mine and my peers', as a source of advice, entertainment and sometimes, commiseration.
Well, stay tuned to find out more about me and the MBA experience!
To fellow students- I can't wait to meet you.
To prospective students- Keep reading. The fact that you read this blog means you are on the right path.
To everyone else- that color looks great on you!
XO from Anderson,
Ashley
